The longer I go through this process of Planting a collegiate church, the more I realize that it’s not cosmopolitan like some dudes think that it is. This is war! The evil one wants to destroy you and he will do it however he can. The whole church movement is about people. It’s about people growing into a closer faith with their Savior. It’s about people being mobalized to go out and share their faith in a intentional way. The catch is that all people, including me, have a past and have baggage. Because we are all jacked up, it can feel sometimes as if there are land mines going off all around you. We aren’t in this thing of church planting because it is trendy or cool. We do this because people’s eternal lives are at stake. Proverbs 4:25-27 says, ” Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left;Remove your foot from evil.” In life, especially dealing with people, we are going to feel as if there are bombs going off all around us but if we fix our eyes on the Savior and living out a faith that is real and authentic then our ways will be made clear by HIM. So my confession for today is that sometimes I feel like their are “bombs going off all around me”. The cool part about all of this is I am in the corner with the greatest team of fighters to do battle with Dave Proffitt, Aaron Proffitt, Josh Soto, and Alan Sheriff. All of these dudes are great “Kingdom Warriors”.
